Sneaky Beagle Syndrome and the Tagg Pet Tracker

TAGG Pet Tracker-10.jpg

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Tagg™ Pet Tracker, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #pettracker

There are two things that our beagle is good at — eating and sneaking. From the time that she was a puppy, Kaylee has mastered the fine art of sneaking food and treats. Once when we were visiting my parents, I happened to walk into the room as she launched herself from the back of the couch onto the kitchen counter in an attempt to snag a piece of bread. She has to be the most food-motivated dog on the face of the planet.

It’s not like she doesn’t eat well. There is an abundance of dog food in our house — we’ve never had to restrict her diet. But recently, I’ve noticed that she has put on a few extra pounds. And something tells me it doesn’t have anything to do with kibble.

Every year, I look forward to fall for one thing — College Football Season! The Nerd and I met at Texas A&M, and it’s been such a huge part of our lives and relationship. Last year, we took Andrew to his first football game the day after he turned one. We wanted to make sure that Andrew grew up with the Aggie traditions and going to football games, so earlier this year, we joined the Aggie Wagon group tailgate.

Football Brownie Bites

Football Brownie Bites-2.jpg

Last weekend, it was our turn to host the Aggie Wagon tailgate. I decided to make these Football Brownie Bites, in addition to my Texas A&M Aggie Football Cookies.

These brownies were so easy and they transported really well on the three-hour drive to College Station. I was able to make them early in the week and store them in an airtight container, so they were still fresh when I set them out to serve at the tailgate. Food that’s easy to make ahead and still tastes fresh is the best kind of tailgate food, don’t you think?

A Day at the Beach

Labor Day Beach-2.jpg

A few weeks ago, we went to visit The Nerd’s family on the Texas Gulf Coast. Andrew loves to swim, so I was excited to take him out for a day at the beach. Unlike the first time we took him, he LOVED the water.

College Football season is here! Hooray! Since The Nerd and I both attended Texas A&M, we wanted to make sure that Andrew grows up as part of the Aggie Family. Last year, we took him to his first Aggie Football game the day after his first birthday. This year, we took it a step further and joined the Aggie Wagon tailgate! We’ve been making the three-hour trek to College Station for most of the home games, just to hang out and eat great food. This weekend is our turn to provide the food, so I decided to make these Aggie Football Cookies!

Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice

Pumpkin Pie Spice-3

It’s almost October and you know what that means — fall baking season! Many of my favorite fall recipes call for Pumpkin Pie Spice. But rather than spend money on a store-bought mixture, I thought I’d search and see if I could find a recipe for Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice. I was thrilled to find this concoction from Jamie at My Baking Addiction.

Everything’s better homemade, right? And the best part is that you probably already have many of these ingredients in your pantry. Just mix these five spices together and you’ll be ready to conquer all your fall recipes!

Cat Beards + New Fresh Step OdorShield Formula

My cat, Frosty, is 15 years old — I got her during my seventh grade year in junior high. When Andrew was born, she quickly became *his* cat. He loves her so much — one of his first words was, “Kitty!”

She has gotten a lot more mellow in her old age, so we decided to try out one of the latest Internet memes — cat beards! This hilarious meme is all about sharing photos of you and your cat in an, umm, unusual way.
