Hi, my name is Arena, and I’m a margarita snob. Last week, we went to see The Lumineers in concert. Before the show, The Nerd and I passed the time in the Mazda Club at Verizon Theatre. We decided to order some drinks, and I asked the bartender for my go-to cocktail: a margarita. He proceeded to put ice in a cup and pour margarita-flavored Bacardi in it.
That, folks, is not a margarita.
With Cinco de Mayo right around the corner, I decided to make some margaritas this weekend — real margaritas.
Strawberry and lime are the perfect flavor combination. You can adjust the recipe to suit your tastes… add in a bit more lime juice if you’d like, or up the amount of strawberry juice to enhance that flavor. The most important thing is to enjoy them!
Strawberry Lime Margaritas
Adapted From: Sweet Life Bake
Ingredients:
1 c fresh strawberry juice, strained
1/4-1/3 c fresh lime juice
1/2 c tequila
1/4 c Triple Sec
2 c ice
Directions:
Rim the edges of a glass with a slice of lime, then dip in kosher or margarita salt. Set aside.
In the pitcher of a blender, stir together the strawberry juice, lime juice, tequila and Triple sec. Add in the ice and blend to desired consistency. You can add in more ice to reach your desired level of slushiness.
Serve in rimmed glasses with sliced strawberries and lime wedges as garnish.
Enjoy!

Yum! Oh my gosh, I am gonna have to try this one! I love that you use all fresh juice and I’m kind of hooked on fresh stuff so I’m all in. Definitely trying it. Elizabeth T, Early Riser
