Have you seen these hair ties from Anthropologie? They are so cute, and they are awesome for keeping your hair straight and crimp-free.
But $12 for five ties seemed like a bit too much for me, so I decided to make my own! For less than $8, I was able to make 28 of my very own DIY Glitter Hair Ties.
These are made using Glitter Stretch Elastic (3/8th inch). One yard makes 4 hair ties. I ordered mine from Sunshine Shoppe. It’s $1.10 per yard per color.
Pick whatever colors you want — I chose to go with a rainbow of colors.
Cut the elastic into 9-inch strips.
Loop the ends of each strip together and tie a knot at the very end.
And there you have it! It’s as easy as that.
Aren’t these a great excuse to wear your hair up all the time? (Not that I need an excuse. My hair is pulled back more often than not.)

I ordered this elastic as soon as I saw your blog! When making my hair ties I used a lighter to melt the ends of the elastic so it wouldn’t fray.

Great idea to use the lighter to keep them from fraying! I hadn’t had that problem yet, but I’ll be sure to do that if it happens!

Hi
Where did you purchase the elastic
