Galveston is quickly becoming one of my favorite travel destinations in Texas. Andrew and I recently took a road trip south to explore Moody Gardens during their media tour of the Festival of Lights, and it didn’t disappoint!
If you want to add some palm trees to your winter plans, Moody Gardens in Galveston is the perfect destination. The three pyramids offer much to explore, and the whole place is decorated for the holidays.
The gem of Moody Gardens during the holidays is definitely the Festival of Lights. Through January 4th, you can enjoy this beautiful display of more than one million holiday lights. Andrew really loved walking through the different scenes and guessing what they were.
They also had lots of fun events going on, like live entertainment, outdoor ice skating, photos with Santa and an Arctic Ice Slide.
We loved watching this performer juggle torches — the kids got a kick out of it!
We also spent some time in the Aquarium and Rain Forest pyramids. How can you go to Moody Gardens and not? Again, this was the perfect place to let my little guy release some energy and explore new things. We even got to meet a penguin up close!
We had such an awesome time — I can’t wait until our next trip to Moody Gardens!
Have you been to Moody Gardens before?

Moody Gardens is a gem in Galveston. The Festival of Lights was a visual delight and the live entertainment added a festive touch. Can not wait to explore the pyramids again on my next trip.
