One of our favorite places to view Christmas lights in Dallas is at the Gift of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway. This holiday family attraction features almost 3 million lights!
I still remember getting bundled up in my pajamas and climbing into the car on Christmas Eve. The anticipation was palpable — my brother, sister, and I were all so excited! Once everyone was settled, we hit the road in search of Christmas lights.
That scene played out every year during my childhood. And we’ve continued the tradition with my son. Every year, we dress up in our pajamas, grab a cup of hot chocolate, and drive to see a Christmas lights display.
This year, the Gift of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway invited my family to preview their holiday attraction, and it is *perfect* for a family trip to look at Christmas lights!
The Gift of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway
You begin with a trip outside the track, and make your way into the grand stand. There you’ll find beautiful light displays ranging from Santa’s Workshop and Elves to Unicorns and Spring Flowers.
It’s really cool to get to drive through the lights and see everything. My son was mesmerized by all of the fun displays!
After your journey through the lights, stop at Santa’s Village to see Santa himself and get some refreshments.
The Gift of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway is open from 6 to 10 pm Monday-Sunday on Nov. 26, 2015 – Dec. 31, 2015.
