One of the best things about my recent cruise aboard the Liberty of the Seas as part of Brandcation is that I threw my inhibitions overboard and set out to have an ADVENTURE!
If you know me, you know that I am a huge scaredy cat. I hate roller coasters. I hate heights. But there was so much to do and try aboard Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas that I just had to try!
Rock Climbing Wall
This was probably my favorite thing I got to do onboard the ship — rock climbing! I had never gone rock climbing before, so I was very intimidated at first. The gear and everything is included in your fare, and you don’t have to have a reservation. They even provide shoes!
The staff members were so supportive — I didn’t think I’d get very far at all. In fact, my first try, I didn’t. But then I asked to go to an easier side, and I *almost* made it to the top. See how close I am to that bell up there? Gah! I got as high as I could — my friends said that they could even see my legs shaking from the ground. It was crazy, but *such* an adrenaline rush.
FlowRider Wave Simulator
And this, my friends, was the most embarrassing activity for me aboard the ship. The Flowrider wave simulator gives you the chance to surf or boogie board. I tried my hand at boogie boarding, and failed miserably, as the other Brandcation girls can attest. It was still fun, though. Watch the Cruise Compass for specific times when boogie boarding is available.
Oh, and umm, ladies… make sure to wear a swimsuit that will keep everything covered, if you know what I mean? Some women before us were feeling a bit, uh, exposed.
Encore! Ice Skating Show
If you do nothing else onboard the Liberty of the Seas, take an afternoon and see the Encore! ice skating show. It was *so* good! The performers were awesome and it was definitely a highlight of my cruise!
In the Air Stage Show
In the Air is another can’t-be-missed show. It’s like a circus on steroids, with performers swinging this way and that. The acrobats were stunning, and the costumes were really interesting. Half the time, I was just sitting back shocked at the different performers. So good!
Wishes at Sea Fun Walk
On the last sea day of the cruise, we had the chance to join in the Wishes at Sea Fun Walk benefiting the Make a Wish Foundation. For $10, you could receive a T-shirt for the walk, and all proceeds go to the foundation. I had a lot of fun participating, and even got to meet Jerome, our cruise director. The best part, though, was when Shrek and Fiona came out and surprised everyone with a very, umm, interesting dance!
The Quest
This gameshow on the last night of the cruise was hilariously awesome. Think of it as an R-rated scavenger hunt. There were no prizes, but man, people will do *CRAZY* things just for the joy of winning. Seriously. I think our team was at a bit of a disadvantage because there were 40 women bloggers all sitting together, so the half-a-dozen men in our section really had to set up to the plate. It took some coaxing, but the results were awesome.
See anything you’d want to try?

I am SO bummed I missed boogie boarding! I wanted to try it but every time I stopped by it was always surfing. I tried rock climbing but they gave me the hard side so I didn’t get far at all!
