Last week, I boarded the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for a Western Caribbean cruise to Cozumel, Mexico. The trip was awesome, and I had the chance to see some behind-the-scenes stuff that I wanted to share with you. Here are some of the highlights from our trip!
The Liberty of the Seas is the third largest cruise ship in the world. It is *gorgeous* — as we sailed away from the Fort Lauderdale port, we went up top to watch the gorgeous view. We were even wished Bon Voyage by the Goodyear Blimp!
We stayed in a Superior Ocean View Stateroom with a balcony. It was spacious and super-nice. The balcony was my favorite part — I enjoyed sitting out there with a glass of wine and reading my book as we sailed out to sea.
The food was awesome. There are several dining options on the ship — the Windjammer buffet is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and there’s also your assigned fine dining option for dinner. There is also Portofino Italian bistro and Chops Grille for an additional charge. You can also order Room Service to your stateroom at any time *for no charge.* How awesome is that?
Of course, one of the best parts of being on the ship was getting to lounge by the pool. The pool area was beautiful, and I wanted to head there first thing every morning. There’s also an area for 18 years and older — so if you want to escape from splashing kids, you can!
And if you want to make use of it, there’s a fantastic gym on board. The treadmills look out over the water and everything. I didn’t spend any time there, other than touring the facility. But if you’re all gung-ho and fitnessy, it couldn’t get much better!
If you happen to bring kids on vacation with you, Royal Caribbean has an awesome kid’s program. They have dedicated activities for kids ages 6 months to 17 years. Drop them off, then go enjoy some alone time!
One of my favorite things about the Liberty of the Seas was the Royal Promenade on the 5th Deck. It’s a mall-like store-front with tons of shopping, bars and, even, entertainment in the evenings. So much fun!
The Liberty of the Seas is such a beautiful ship — I can’t wait to share even more of the fun that we had onboard!
Have you cruised before?
