Bonding With My Dad Through #PricelessGolf #MC

Priceless Golf Experience

Earlier this week, I had the chance to take my dad to play a round of golf at an exclusive, members-only club in Dallas, thanks to MasterCard! I was really excited about this opportunity, because it gave me the chance to bond with my dad over our shared interest in golf.

As a MasterCard member, I was able to book a tee time at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney through their Private Club Access experience. The Private Club Access package includes access to select TPC private clubs, private member treatment, a welcome gift upon arrival, and access to membership amenities.

The course was just a short drive from my house, which was really nice. It was cloudy and drizzling when we arrived, but we decided to go ahead and try our luck to see if the summer rain storm would pass.

When we checked in at the club house, we were given these fun golf bag tags from MasterCard. It was nice to have a souvenir to remember the day by.

We loaded up our equipment in the golf cart and headed to the practice range. It was really nice to have the chance to warm up before the first hole. They even had a practice putting green. My dad kept talking about how he had never played on a course with bent-grass greens, so it presented a fun challenge.

The course was so beautiful — there’s a creek that runs through it. The fairways were lush, and even the hazards were groomed.

The golf carts were equipped with a really awesome GPS system. It showed the distance to the pin from the cart, and you could click anywhere on the map and it would tell you how far away that spot was, then how far from there to the pin. It really helped planning what clubs to use, especially since we’d never played the course before.

Since it was just the two of us, my dad and I had a lot of time to catch up. We talked about my parents’ recent vacation, things that were going on in my life, and even some golf tips and advice. My dad plays golf every day, and I hadn’t played in years, so we took our time and really enjoyed ourselves.

After the front nine, the sun started shining and the clouds moved out. It was still cool enough that we were not overwhelmed by the Texas heat. We finished up the back nine right before it started getting hot and muggy.

It was such an amazing day, and I never would have had the opportunity if I wasn’t a MasterCard member. The Private Club Access package is just one of the Priceless Golf Experiences available to MasterCard members. I’d love to try one of the PGA Tour Player Experiences.

Do you play golf? What Priceless Golf Experience would you want to try?

How fun! I’ve never played golf but was just telling the hubs that it would be fun to learn. Love that GPS, how cool is that (filing under things I never thought would have a GPS, but totally makes sense)
