Applesauce Monster Halloween Treats

October 14, 2014 by Arena Blake 2 Comments

Applesauce Monsters

While shopping the other day, I came upon some pear-flavored applesauce, and inspiration struck me. I bought several packages, including some regular applesauce, to make these Applesauce Monster Halloween Treats. These would be such a fun treat for a Halloween Party or event at school. Plus, they’re healthy! You can’t beat that, right?

The green color of the pear-flavored applesauce was perfect for a Frankenstein’s Monster treat. And the cream color of the regular applesauce reminded me of Dracula. I used construction paper, and even included a template of all the pieces so that you can easily make some treats of your own!

Supplies:
Pear-flavored applesauce cups (for Frankenstein’s Monster)
Applesauce cups (for Dracula)
Brown construction paper
Black construction paper
Red construction paper
White construction paper
Googly eyes
Permanent Marker
Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Directions:

Let’s start with Frankenstein’s Monster. You’ll want to download this template to begin.

Cut the hair pieces out of brown construction paper, and the bolts out of black construction paper.

Start by turning your pear-flavored applesauce cup upside down, and gluing the hair pieces onto the top. I also secured the bits of hair down the side of his head using my glue gun. Attach the bolts to the side of the neck using the glue.

Then add the googly eyes to his face, and draw on a mouth with your permanent marker.

Now, for Dracula! Download this template for your pieces.

Cut his hair out of black construction paper, the cape out of red construction paper, and his fangs out of white paper.

Turn your applesauce cup upside down, and glue the hair piece onto the top. His widow’s peak will be at the front of his face, so secure that too. Add googly eyes on either side of the widow’s peak.

Glue fangs onto his face, and draw on a mouth with your permanent marker.

Lastly, glue the cape to the sides of his face, so that it stretches around the back and onto the other side.
