Last week, Andrew was inconsolable and fussy. He wasn’t sleeping at night. And that is so weird for him.
We went in to see the pediatrician on Thursday morning, and Andrew tested positive for strep. Later that day, I did, too.
This weekend, he acted like he was feeling better. We even went to see Sesame Street Live! on Saturday. But yesterday morning, he woke up in a terrible state. He had an awful cough and kept grabbing his head and ears.
So we took him to the pediatric urgent care clinic and found that he had gotten an ear infection, even though he’d been on antibiotic for the strep. Yay. Basically, life at my house sucks the Big One right now.
It’s times like these that I think moms qualify as Super Heroes — putting aside your own sickness to take care of your baby and snuggle on the couch watching Wreck It Ralph.
That’s the grand plan this week — snuggle and watch Wreck It Ralph. And hopefully he’ll start to feel better and things will get back to normal.
How do you take care of your babies when they’re sick?
