Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster at SeaWorld San Antonio

June 18, 2017 by Arena Blake 1 Comment

This summer’s hottest rollercoaster is Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster at SeaWorld San Antonio. We had the chance to preview the ride before it opened to the public, and I wanted to share our experience with you!

This fun ride was inspired by the heroics of the SeaWorld Animal Rescue Team. Riders blast off in a jet-ski style car — the first of its kind in North America — on a mission to save a seat turtle, dolphin, or sea lion.

The coaster’s unique design hugs riders in a straddled position as they grip the handle bars and race through a series of high-speed maneuvers, steeply banked turns, and a pair of pulse-pounding launches over water.

As you move through the queue, you get to see stories from some of the rescues by the SeaWorld Rescue Team over the past 50 years.

The ride begins with a short stop in the mission briefing, then launches you into high speed maneuvers over a lake, which was my favorite part of the ride.

You really feel like you’re on a jet ski racing over the water.

My son was a bit too short to ride — guests must meet a minimum height requirement of 48 inches — but he had fun learning about the SeaWorld Animal Rescue Team Missions, and even got to try out one of the jet-ski style cars outside the ride entrance.

A Look at Wave Breaker The Rescue Coaster at Sea World San Antonio

This coaster is a great addition to SeaWorld San Antonio. It is the perfect transitional coaster for kids who aren’t quite tall enough for The Great White or Steel Eel.

And as someone who is terrified on most coasters, I can honestly say this ride was FUN and exhilarating, and I wasn’t really scared at all.

You definitely want to make sure Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster at SeaWorld San Antonio is on your summer travel bucket list!

This coaster sounds like an incredible experience. I can not wait to feel the rush of racing over the water and learning about the SeaWorld Animal Rescue Team. Adding it to my must do list for sure.
