Yes, my friends, that is my dear, spastic beagle playing with a grape like it’s a toy.
(Please excuse our dirty carpet. Georgie sheds like crazy and I can see it’s time to pull out the vacuum. Le sigh.)
We tried to capture her antics with the grape on video for your viewing pleasure, but by the time we got everything ready, Kaylee had realized that she shouldn’t play with the grapes — she should eat them.
And that’s what she did from then on.
Mangy mutt. She never cooperates.
It’s been a while since I did a “what’s going on in my life” post.
So, that’s what we’re going to do today. I’m writing stream of consciousness-style like MckMama does sometimes. We’ll see how you like it.
It’s Friday and the last day of school for *most* districts in DFW.
Hallelujah!
Can you tell I’m ready for summer?
My “To Be Read” pile o’ books is staggering.
And only a little summertime will cure my need to read.
Since the redesign, I’ve tried to post in each section on a regular basis. The “What I’m Loving” section is kinda lacking, though.
But soon, my adorable niece, River, will be moving back to Tejas with her parents.
Can’t.Freaking.Wait.
And I’ll get to take pictures and post about her growing up.
Seriously, James and I need to have kids already. I’ve got the baby bug bad.
For those of you who link to my blog in your blogroll — the issues we had with it updating have been resolved! Thanks, brother dearest.
My site now has an RSS feed that will update with each post I write, regardless of the section. Woohoo!
Here lately, I’ve been having a case of Wanderlust. I *really* needed to go somewhere *badly.*
I was talking to my mom, and she was having the same thing. It’s been a stressful year for us both at work.
So, I suggested we go visit my sister in New Mexico.
We’re leaving Sunday. We plan to stay for a week, but we have no set schedule. We’re just going to drive that way and do what we want and see what we want.
It’s going to be a blast, and I can’t wait!
I’m really excited to take photos of the New Mexico landscape.
And my nephew, Hyrum! Yay!
So be patient with me this next week, if I’m not able to post often. I’ve got a few things scheduled in my absence and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to post about our days’ activities in the evenings.
Lots of exciting stuff going on here soon, folks.
It almost feels like I’m in a wait-and-see kind of mode.
Ah, well, that’s life.
One more thing: Go visit my sister-in-law’s blog. It’s called “Without a Paddle” and I’m excited to read her take on things!
Happy Friday!

Have fun on your trip! I too am in need of a nice vacay, we leave at the end of the month! Woo hoo, but we shall see how much of a vacation it is for me with a 1 year old 🙂 Enjoy being baby free while it lasts!!

I hope you have a lot of fun. Hubby and are are veterans of the "get in the car & drive as far as you get each day" method of travel. We once drove home from San Diego (to DFW Texas, mind you) by way of Crater Lake, Oregon. When you get home and things slow down a bit for the summer, we need to try to get together.
