As a stay-at-home mom of a toddler, here’s the hard truth I’ve learned: A shower is a luxury. When you have a little person demanding your attention, it’s hard to do things like wear makeup or brush your hair. I am sad to admit that more often that not, I’m still in my pajamas when The Nerd gets home from work lately.

To get myself out of this rut, I decided to shop for a new beauty routine at my local Walmart. Luckily for me, there is an expert beauty consultant there to answer questions and recommend products based on my needs. I found her on the cosmetics aisle and asked for some recommendations.

After a short survey, she led me down the aisles showing me the products that would most help me. It was really great to have an expert guiding me in what would work best for me. It was like being at a department store beauty counter without the department store prices!

She recommended six beauty essentials for busy moms and I wanted to share them with you!

1. Olay Fresh Effects Cleansing System

If you’re not already making time to wash your face every day, you should start! This will help keep your skin healthy and fight signs of aging. It’s one of the most important things you can add to your beauty routine!

2. Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream

This moisturizer is the perfect product for a busy mom. It contains SPF to protect your skin from the sun, along with some tinting to hide flaws in your skin. If you don’t have time for foundation or powder, just throw on some Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream and you’re good to go!

I really loved the way this made my skin feel instantly healthier. I have really dry skin, so a good moisturizer is a must for me!

3. CoverGirl Liquiline Blast Eyeliner

This easy-to-use eyeliner can be added to create some definition to your eyes. I usually just run a thin line across my upper lid, since I don’t have time to apply too much makeup.

4. CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara

I love, love, love this mascara! The rubber brush keeps clumps at bay. Adding a stroke or two of mascara helps your eyes pop. It also helps draw attention from any, umm, extra bags that us moms tend to acquire under our eyes.

5. CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Polish

Isn’t this color so fun? I know as moms it’s really hard to find time to do your nails, but this polish is great! It’s an all-in-one polish, so there’s no need to apply a top coat! Just put on your nails and go. Love it!

6. CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss

The beauty consultant shared that these colors make a great addition to your daytime look. They add some shine to your lips and are easy to carry with you. I don’t know about you, but I just feel better with a little color on my lips!

Transition easily from day to night by adding a bright shade of lip color. I love CoverGirl Lip Perfection in Fairytale. It’s a nice coral red that really complimented my skin tone.

I used my new products to get dressed up for a date night with The Nerd. We went to see Mary Poppins The Musical and had a blast. I was able to throw together a look quickly when our babysitter was running late and I had less than 30 minutes to get ready.
