Signed Books

May 25, 2010 by Arena Blake 9 Comments

BookExpo America is underway in New York, and I am sitting here in Tejas wishing I was there.
Can you imagine? A room full of authors just sitting in their booths, waiting to autograph my books?
I could be chatting up R.L. Stine right now.
Well, I guess it wouldn’t go quite like that, but I still wish I was there.
And not here.
But I am.
Fortunately for lowly bloggers like me who have to stay at home and miss all the fun, there is Armchair BEA!
It’s a way to stay connected and discuss all the things we’d do if we were at BEA.
Sound fun?
Well, the first thing that I’d do is get a *ton* of books signed to beef up my sad collection.
Seriously, it’s sad.
My friends and fellow readers, I only own three signed books.
Wanna see ’em?
Hank The Cowdog by John R. Erickson
This was the first signed book I ever got. Mr. Erickson came to the college near my high school during my senior year. I *loved* the Hank The Cowdog books growing up.

Hank was so fun!

The Pioneer Woman Cooks by Ree Drummond
I stood in line for more than eight hours to get this book signed. My poor hubby was there with me every step of the way. To this day, he still cringes when I mention wanting to go to a book signing.
Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris
This is my most newly acquired signed book. I had such a fun time at the signing. Now, I’m contemplating ways to attend *many, many* more. Poor James.
Want to increase your collection of signed books? Enter my Dead in the Family giveaway.
If I was at BEA, there are books I would *have* to get signed:
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
Fallen by Lauren Kate
What about you? What books are you dying to have signed?
Thanks for looking!

I would stand in line to meet Ree Drumond! I have her cook book and follow her blog. She's very funny.
I haven't been able to talk my husband into going to a signing yet but I haven't tried very hard. Good of yours to go with 🙂

I'm a new follower and wish I was able to fit in BEA this week too but life is just too busy this year.

I also cherish my signed books!

Have you reviewed Before I Fall? Do you enjoy YA? I read this one thinking I would love it and I really didn't like it much – the repetition bugged me (I know… I knew in advance the story would be told 7 times…). My issue, not the authors or the books 🙂

Wow, waiting eight hours for a book signing? I would have to seriously think of which authors would be worth waiting that long. I love the Pioneer Woman's blog, though.

I have been meaning to read Charlaine Harris's books, but have not done so yet. Hopefully, this summer brings some great reading time and I can finally get to them!! 🙂
