Last weekend, we got to play with River and her newest, most awesome toy: A giant red inflatable ball.
My brother found it at Costco. You air it up and roll it around — kids can play inside it.
River rolled around in the ball so much it made her hair stand on end. Gotta love static electricity.
She was laughing and giggling.
She had so much fun.
I just love these shots of her laughing.
So much laughter she couldn’t contain it!
The Nerd had fun pestering her.
Soon, though, River got bored and started playing by herself in the front yard.
The Nerd wouldn’t stand for that. He rolled the ball toward her.
It went a bit faster (and harder) than he intended and hit her right in the face.
She fell down…
…but she was ok, I promise! She just kind of looked at The Nerd like: Seriously!? and then got up and continued playing.
It was really funny to watch. The rest of the weekend, she kept saying, “You knocked me down, Uncle James.” And I would start giggling hysterically.
Of course, I had to make an animation of the action:
Poor child. She’ll be scarred for life.
No children were harmed in the making of this post. At least, not physically.

I LOVE that you photographed the whole thing! ROFL. That is awesome! Glad she was ok! 😀

Awesome, and am going to Costco for a big red ball very soon.

Another reason people enjoy horror games is the sense of achievement. Overcoming terrifying obstacles or finishing a horror story feels rewarding, as if the player has conquered their own fears.
That animation of Uncle James accidentally knocking poor River over with the giant red ball is absolutely hilarious! I love how you caught the exact moment she got hit, and her face afterward is just priceless. Kids are so resilient! I actually recorded a quick clip of it to text to my husband because we’ve been looking at those giant Costco balls, but the file was massive. I had to Compress Video format just to send it over. Thanks for the laugh!
In Crossy Road, players who focus only on their character tend to miss approaching hazards. Scanning the entire screen improves awareness dramatically.
That giant red ball from Costco looks like an absolute blast — River’s static-filled hair and her priceless reaction to Uncle James knocking her down had me laughing out loud. Thanks for sharing such a fun family moment! When you’re not chasing kids around with inflatable balls, you might enjoy checking out my Fortnite Sprite checklist site too.
Came across this in the archives and it made me smile. A big red ball really is all it takes at that age, and the Family and Humor tags fit it perfectly. Funny how the smallest props end up in the stories we keep retelling years later. River clearly had the right idea. Quiet everyday moments like this are what keep pulling me back to false sun as well.
These photos are fantastic! They perfectly capture the joy of rolling around inside the giant ball, the moment hair stood on end from static electricity, and your little niece’s adorable smile. The scene where she was knocked over—and that line, “Uncle knocked me down!”—really brings the moment to life. What a heartwarming and fun family! sprunki shifted
That giant red ball from Costco looks like an absolute blast — I can only imagine how much fun River had rolling around inside it with all that static electricity making her hair stand on end! The story about The Nerd accidentally knocking her down and her repeating “You knocked me down, Uncle James” is hilarious. The post about River and the Big Red Ball is so cute! Watching her roll and spin the ball reminds me of obstacles in platformer games.
I love the idea of drafting an all-time Serie A XI and then playing through the entire season—it really adds a strategic layer to the usual fantasy football experience. The twist where just one draw or defeat ends your perfect run makes every match feel so intense and rewarding!
