On the flight home from San Francisco, I had the whole row to seats to myself.
So, I took advantage of the space to pull out my camera and snap some photos in the air.
I loved seeing all the city lights from up above.
The cities looked really cool.
I like them converted to black and white.
The whole time I was taking photos, I kept waiting for the flight attendant to come by and tell me that I wasn’t supposed to be using electronic devices.
I’m such a rebel.
Have you ever shot photos out of a plane window?
That was the whole premise of Julieanne Kost’s book, Window Seat: The Art of Digital Photography and Creative Thinking.
It’s a really fascinating book and the photos are amazing.
Thanks for looking!

Those are beautiful! My pictures have never turned out that stunning!
love the sunset ones. I always pick a seat near the wing so I can get some cool shots with the wing in it ๐
Wow Arena!! These are just gorgeous! I love the color ones. I love photographing out of airplane windows!
The third color photo is my absolute favorite. Completely stunning!
Those are great photos, did you use your new camera and software? To answer your question, I have never taken pictures out a plane window, but maybe I will next time.
Love this, Arena! This whole perspective feels like a total breath of fresh air, and itโs exactly what I needed to read today. Life has been so chaotic lately, so finding these little moments of calm is everything. We actually tried a version of this during our family road trip yesterday. While my husband and I were chatting up front, THE Kid at THE BACK Game was surprisingly quiet for once, completely lost in his own world. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration!
