Oreo Truffles

February 2, 2011 by Arena Blake 4 Comments

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I wanted to share a festive recipe that would be easy to make.
I’ve heard nothing but good things about Oreo Truffles. They’ve been making their way around the blogosphere for a while now.
And these little puppies deserve all the compliments they’ve received.
They are creamy and rich and oh-so-divine.
Oreo Truffles
Ingredients:
One package of Oreo cookies
8 oz. cream cheese
1 package of candy melts
Directions:
Pulse Oreo cookies in a food processor until ground into small pieces.
Mix the cream cheese and Oreo pieces together until well combined.
Roll into small balls and line up on wax paper.
Melt the candy melts according to package directions. When creamy, dip the balls into the melted chocolate using two forks.
Set on wax paper and sprinkle top with nonpareils or sanding sugar.
Allow to harden before serving.

Enjoy!

I made these at Christmas … so yummy! The recipe I used called for melting chocolate chips for the coating. I found that white chocolate chips made them taste more like oreos, but you apparently have to be careful. White chocolate can sieze up if you heat it too quickly. I'm not a baker, so it was a lesson learned for me. These are quick, easy, and SOOOO good!

Mommy Lebron was right – your approach was straight forward. Beautiful pic, btw! And I like using the mini-liner things – that's a nice touch!
