On April 1, a new show joined the Netflix family — Super 4. It is full of adventure, whit, and friendship. As soon as I heard about it, I knew that my boys would LOVE it. We have been so busy, so I knew that I wanted to make it a special night — a boy’s party. We had a sword fight, ate chicken on a stick, played pick up sticks, and watched the show.
Can you tell from their faces, how much they loved the show?
I loved playing pick up sticks with my boys. It requires concentration, thinking, planning, and fine motor skills. We just played the easy way, picking a stick up without moving another stick, but you could totally make it harder for your older kids or adults. You could do each color is a different point value or even the number of colors on each stick is a certain number of points. I can’t wait to play the hubby on our date night. We are SUPER competitive.
How to make pick up sticks for your family:
What you need:
- apple sticks
- paint
- paint brush
- painter’s tape
- sharp scissors (If you want to cut the sharp end off. I just left it on)
How to make them:
Tape off different sections on your apple sticks. Paint the different sections in your desired color/colors. I painted some apple sticks all one color. I also painted multiple colors on some sticks. This is where you use your creativity.
Pick up sticks are so versatile for ages and locations to play. I can’t wait to keep these in my purse to use them when I need to keep my kids busy.
