As a mom, one of the things I dread most is taking my little man to the doctor. Hauling a sick kiddo out of bed, into the car and to the pediatrician is the stuff of nightmares. Waiting rooms? No, thanks. And it never fails that my kiddo is sick at the most inconvenient times.
But no more. Now, you can get Pediatric Urgent Care in your home with PediaQ, a new app that launched this month in North Dallas.
We had the chance to try PediaQ, “Concierge Care for Kids,™” an On-Demand Pediatric Urgent Care™ earlier this week, and y’all — it’s my new favorite thing. I love that I didn’t have to take him all the way to the doctor’s office, or to an urgent care clinic. I called my husband after our visit and told him, “THIS is what we should have been doing all along!”
Using the PediaQ app, you are connected with high quality pediatric nurse practitioners, who are available to come visit you at home, or wherever you need. They’re available when your pediatrician can’t be!
Pediatric Urgent Care in Your Home
The nurse practitioner will come to your home and examine your child. We thought Andrew might have strep throat, so she even did a strep test for us. It was negative, thank goodness. Turns out, he had really bad allergies that were causing his symptoms. She recommended some over-the-counter meds, and I’m really glad that I didn’t take him all the way into the pediatrician for that!
If your child does need a prescription, the Nurse Practitioner will pick up the prescription and deliver it to you as well (for an added fee).
The best part about this service is that they will be in communication with your pediatrician and they will even provide them with the medical visit information so that everyone is updated on the conditions and treatments.
PediaQ’s initial hours of operations are 4 pm to 12 am Monday through Friday, and 8 am to 12 am Saturday and Sunday. PediaQ will soon expand hours of operations to 4 pm to 8 am on weekdays and 24 hours per day on weekends.
They’ll be expanding soon, so be on the look-out for that!
