You probably remember when my brother’s family moved to Denver and we said our goodbyes at Great Wolf Lodge?
Well, that wasn’t the end of the road for River and Nanna. Not by a long shot.
Thanks to these new-fangled technological devices called webcams, Nanna and River can talk any time they want to!
And they talk a lot.
It’s so neat to me how we can “see” our loved ones on a regular basis, even though they live hundreds of miles away.
This holiday weekend, James and I were at Nanna and Pappy’s house, so we got to listen in on one of Nanna’s chats with River.
It went a little something like this:
Nanna: Hi River! Whatcha doin’?
River: …Nanna!
(River gets distracted by something…)
Nanna: River! Where ya going?
Hey River!
River: …silence…
Nanna: Riiiver…Do you wanna show Nanna your toys?
River: …silence…
Nanna: Hey Riiiiver! What you got there?
River: Ehphunt.
Nanna: River! What is *that*?
River: ….mutters something unintelligble…
Nanna: River! Is that a football?
River: uh-huh.
Nanna: Do you like playing football?
River: uh-huh.
Or something along those lines. River is usually quite chatty (I get phone calls for “Reenie” often) but she seemed a little quieter than usual.
That doesn’t dampen Nanna’s spirits, though. She’s just glad to see her River!
And I’m glad, too.
Thanks for looking!
