Green Apple Guacamole

November 22, 2010 by Arena Blake 10 Comments

Green Apple Guacamole 2
I’ve lived in Texas my whole life, but I’ve always been kind of blah about guacamole. I mean, I’ll eat it, but I’m not the biggest fan.
That is, until I tried this guacamole. Oh my goodness. I don’t know what it is about it. You can’t really taste the apples. In fact, I wouldn’t have known they were apples if I hadn’t been told. But it’s good. And you should definitely try it.
Green Apple Guacamole
Source: Adapted from a friend’s recipe for Apple Avocado Salsa
Ingredients:
6 medium-sized avocados, peeled and chopped into small pieces
2 Granny Smith apple, peeled and diced
1 medium-sized red onion, diced
2 fresh jalapeno, diced with seeds and membranes removed
Fresh cilantro, to taste
Fresh lime juice, to taste
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
Directions:
Combine jalapeno, onion and cilantro in a large bowl. Add avocado and smash until smooth. Add lime juice, salt and pepper until desired texture and taste is achieved.
Stir in peeled and chopped apple.
Serve immediately.

Enjoy!
Diced green apples make this guacamole fresh, crisp and addictive!

    Thanks everyone!

Mama Gayle – I bought it at a local grocery store: Market Street. They come in all colors and are perfect for dips! 🙂

I am a guacamole addict, and this unique twist sounds great! I can imagine that the apples add a nice fresh flavor and crunch the the creamy avocados.

What an interesting addition to guacamole. I've never heard of a recipe like it. I could eat guacamole every single day and be a happy girl, so I think I may put this on my list to try out!
