I love, love, love me some Girl Scout cookies.
The Nerd likes Thin Mints.
And I have to admit, they sure are tasty.
But for me, it’s all about the Samoas.
Errr…wait. I mean the Caramel deLites…
Did you know that they changed the name of Samoas?
Actually, the names of several of the kinds of cookies change, according to the company that makes them.
The Girl Scouts have two commercial companies that make the cookies — ABC Bakers and Little Brownie Bakers.

Why did they change the name of the samoas?? They are by far my FAVORITE GS cookie!
Ooh..Girl Scout cookie time. Bittersweet. LOL My daughter has been in scouts since Kindergarten and she is now in 7th grade. In our area (Tarrant County) they've always been called Caramel deLites. When people ask me about Samoas I had no idea what they're talking about. Although I do love those, I think my all-time favorite is the peanut butter patties.
Jennifer, it's a licensing thing. If you went to a council that used Little Brownie, they're still called Samoas.
Definitely samoas!! Or whatever they're called…

I love thin mints! But they will ALWAYS be Samoas!
I vacillate between Samoas, Thin Mints and Tagalongs. However, I have a kid that hates PB, so Tagalongs mean the box is mine. ;o) Thankfully, my oldest is now a Brownie, so I get to buy lots of what I need. Sooooo looking forward to having 200+ boxes of cookies in my living room in a few weeks, last year we built a fort.
We switched to ABC two years ago, but this year, our council went back to Little Brownies. I was soooo happy. Goodbye, Caramel DeLites, hello Samoas! =)
They changed the name of Samoas??? D: Those are my favorite! Soooo not okay.
Didn't know they changed the name, that's weird. It's been Samoas for years.
Unfortunately I don't like Girl Scout cookies anymore because they have the tendency to ALWAYS take away my fave cookie! First it was the vanilla sandwich one that they had when I was selling them
Then I liked the Apple Cinnamon one that came along later,
Then I liked the Sugar Free Brownies bites–those were soooo good, we kept buying like 2-3 boxes at the grocery stores when we saw the girl scouts there.
Then I thought last year or maybe 2 years ago, they had a chocolate chip cookie that was pretty good and its gone.
So I no longer have a favorite cookie, I never cared for the traditional ones, basically the ones that are left. 🙁
I love Peanut Butter Patties(or Tagalongs). I hate that they changed all the names. I used to know every one of them during my Girl Scout days. Oh well, at least they still taste delicious.
Love me some Samoas or Caramel deLites, whatever they want to call them this year…they are my absolute favorite! Has your hubby tried Thin Mints right out of the freezer? They are to die for!
