Frosted Cherry Limeade

July 11, 2016 by Jet Skidmore Leave a Comment

cherry1Looking for a refreshing, fun summer drink? These frosted cherry limeades are sure to be just what you are looking for.

cherrynew2Whether you are looking for a fun treat for the family, a way to cool off, or the final touch to a party menu, this frosted cherry limeade recipe is sure to do the trick. The best part about it: It contains NO SODA! I love that my kids view this as an ultimate treat, but I am sneaking in some of the vital nutrition that they need. One cup of fruit and 120% Vitamin C is found in every 8 ounces of Juicy Juice 100% Juice. cherrynew1

The base for this recipe is Juicy Juice 100% Juice in the cherry flavor. It gives the right amount of sweetness and texture to balance out all of the other ingredients. The cherry flavor only comes in two sizes of bottles (48oz and 64oz) but my kids love drinking the leftovers! The sweet blend in the cherry flavor shows off the full goodness of cherries with kid-friendly flavor. You could also try this recipe with one of the 16 other kid friendly flavors that Juicy Juice offers. I am going to try the fruit punch flavor next!

Here is what you need:

24 ounces Juicy Juice 100% Juice in the cherry flavor (or whatever flavor you choose)

1 Tbsp frozen limeade concentrate

1- 1 1/2 scoops of frozen sherbet or sorbet (I used raspberry sorbet)

2-3 Cups of ice (depending on how frosted you want it)

a dash of maraschino cherry juice

Yields 4 servings!

How to make it:
I started off mixing my 24 oz of cherry juice and limeade concentrate in my food processor. You can use a blender if that is what you have! Then I mixed in my frozen sorbet, maraschino cherry juice, and ice. Blend until it is all smooth. I also mixed some sugar and red food coloring in a bowl and rimmed my glasses with it. Top off with a slice of fresh lime and cherries! Enjoy!!

What is your favorite summer drink?
