Fall in the Mountains

October 23, 2012 by Arena Blake 7 Comments

Fall in the Mountains-020.jpg

Andrew and I are visiting my sister in New Mexico this week. She has two little boys and Andrew is having the time of his life, chasing Hyrum and Benson around the house and playing with the Big Boys.

Today, we took a trip up into the mountains to take photos of the fall leaves. We don’t get many fall leaves in Texas, y’all.

On our way home, Hyrum looked at me and said, “Andrew is not a baby. He’s a BOY.” And I almost started bawling right then and there. Wisdom from a three-year-old.

My baby boy will be one year old in less than a month. Where has the time gone?

What am I going to do without my baby?

It is a little crazy to see pictures from New Mexico and realize that it looks a lot like northern Minnesota a few weeks ago. The trees here have now lost all their leaves and we are definitely bracing for winter up north, but the colors and the paths and the leaves remind me of where I live.

    Beautiful pictures!

These pictures are beautiful and it looks very similar to northern Minnesota a few weeks ago. Our trees are now bare and awaiting the winter snow, but a few weeks ago you could have taken nearly those exact same pictures. I never think of New Mexico as having similarities to northern Minnesota.

Strange. I tried to publish my comment the first time and it came back an error and so then I typed it up again and when I hit submit they both went through.

LOL, no worries, Sarah! That is awesome about the similarities… I always think of New Mexico as dry desert, and then we come here and venture into the mountains and I remember how beautiful it is here! 🙂

Glad you are enjoying New Mexico and get to visit Jet and the boys! Hyrum is growing up so fast, every time I see him he is so much more grown up! And I can’t believe Andrew is already almost a year old.
