This Disney Inside Out Felt Character Activity was one of the kids’ favorite activities during our recent Inside Out Party. They loved getting to switch around the different attributes of the Emotions, creating versions of their own and expressing their creativity!
This activity takes a bit of time to put together because you have to cut out all of the pieces — but once you’re done, the fun is endless! Mix up the characters’ eyes, mouths, hair and more to create versions of your own.
Disney Inside Out Felt Character Activity
Here’s what you need to make this Disney Inside Out Felt Character Activity:
- Large piece of black felt — ours was 3 ft by 3 ft
- 9″ x 12″ craft felt sheets in white, yellow, lilac, purple, pink, light green, dark green, light blue, dark blue, red, and orange
- Hot glue gun and glue
- Permanent Marker
- Printable Guide
First, cut your large piece of black felt to fit onto the wall where you’ll be having your activity. We made ours 2 feet by 3 feet. Keep the scraps, because you’ll use them to cut out some of the pieces (like Joy’s mouth, Sadness’ glasses, etc.
Print out the guide sheets and cut out the pieces. Trace the pieces onto the different colors of felt and cut them out.
Use the permanent marker to add some details, like the teeth on Anger’s mouth and line on Disgust’s lips.
Finally, hot glue the layers of the character’s eyes together.
Arrange the pieces on the black background to create your characters!
How would Anger look with Sadness’ glasses? Now you know!
So many fun combinations!
