Have your little ones been bitten by the Dinotrux bug yet? If so try these healthy and delicious “Ore” cookies.
This summer I was able to go to DreamWorks studio and premiere Dinotrux, a new Netflix original series. A few seconds into the screening, I knew that this would be the next addiction in our house. Boy was I right. Since the premiere of Dinotrux on August 14th, we have been living and breathing Dinotrux. It is all my boys want to watch, play, and read. They want to be just like the Dinotrux.
Naturally, I had to come up with a snack that was based on Dinotrux. After combining a few of our favorite healthy snack recipes, I came up with these “Ore” cookies. They are so simple yet delicious. This Mom even enjoyed a few of them.
If you haven’t tried out Dinotrux yet, run and stream it now. It is so awesome. I love the adventure, friendships, and lessons learned. It really is an incredible show. Oh and let’s not forget about the quality of the show. The producers and writers put so much of their life and love into this show and it has really paid off.
Here is how to make some “Ore” cookies to enjoy at your house:
What you need:
2.5 cups quick oats
1 cup crispy rice cereal (like Rice Krispies)
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup milled flaxseed
1.25 cup mini chocolate chips
2/3 cup honey
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
2 tablespoons coconut oil
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a stand mixer on the lowest setting. Roll into little balls and place on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. Refrigerate until chilled (1 hour or so). Serve chilled.
