For the longest time, I have adored Bakerella.
I just love her blog. And her Cake Pops are darling.
So when I heard she’d be in Dallas for her book tour, I jumped at the chance to meet her.
I mean, look at her. Isn’t she so fun and full of life?
First, she shared some tips to get the perfect Cake Pops.
You see the pens she’s holding in the photo? Those are the only ones to use, she said.
They last a lot longer than other brands, Bakerella told us.
But you still have to be sure to use a light hand when writing/coloring on the candy melts, she said. If you don’t, the candy will gob up around the pen.
And these little pink bowls are the perfect size for a 16 oz bag of candy melts.
Bakerella uses only the best!
Once you dip your Cake Pop into the candy melts, *don’t* stir it around the bowl. You just want to dip it and pull it out to let the excess drain off.
And here’s the trick: Don’t shake your Cake Pop to get rid of the excess chocolate.
Hold it in your hand and tap your wrist with two fingers, gently discarding the excess without messing up your beautiful creation.
Gets it smooth every time, Bakerella told us.
After her question and answer session, she signed books!
I was #8 in line, so I got to go through quickly!
We each got these super-cute buttons, too!
It was such a fun experience!
And here’s the best part: I bought an extra copy of Cake Pops by Bakerella and had it signed especially for one of my readers.
That’s you, folks!
One lovely reader will win this *signed* copy of Cake Pops by Bakerella and a set of adorable mini buttons.

I was standing behind you at the Q&A session and heard you talking about your blog before Bakerella came out so I decided to check it out! Hope you don't mind. 🙂 Although I was at the book signing, believe it or not I didn't get a book. Not because I didn't want one, I'm not really sure why. (It may have had something to do with the long, long line when I got there only a few moments before noon.) Now I'm wishing I had gotten a book and had it signed as well. Hind sight is 20/20 vision, isn't it? Thanks to you I've still got a chance though, actually 5 now! Thank you so much for the chance.

Do you know what brand of edible food pens Bakerella recommends? I bought a Wilton brand and they aren't very good.
Arena @ {thenerdswife}
Sarah –
She said she uses the AmeriColor Gourmet Writer Food Decorator Pens.
Hope that helps!
Marie
Ah! I LOVE Bakerella!
This is totally the first time I've ever done everything I can to get the max amount of entries in a giveaway lol.
Sarah
It does, thank you so much! I was wondering what other brands were out there because Wilton is not very good.

Did she say anything about her source for those little pink bowls? I've been using a pyrex measuring cup to melt my candy in the microwave. But I think the glass must get too hot, because sometimes, the candy gets too hot and I have to scrap a batch and start over. I suspect that plastic bowls might make the process easier. Or, maybe I'm just babbling! LOL
THANKS!!! for the chance to win–she's not coming anywhere near where I live. *sniff* 😉
