An Inside Look at Galleria Dallas

June 4, 2012 by Arena Blake 4 Comments

It doesn’t get more Dallas than this.

That’s what the new marketing campaign for Galleria Dallas states.

And it’s true — growing up in East Texas, the Galleria always seemed more like a destination to me than just a mall. So when I was invited with some other local bloggers to get an exclusive insider’s look at Galleria Dallas, I jumped at the chance.

We headed to the Executive Level Club for a brief reception and information about Galleria Dallas’ new campaign. This is the 30-year anniversary for the Galleria, and executives wanted to highlight Dallas landmarks and Dallas fashion in their marketing.

“Galleria Dallas is not just a mall; it’s a city,” said Jim Anderson, Director of Marketing and Business Development. “In fact, it’s Dallas.”

We took a tour of the Westin Galleria Dallas, which is a beautiful facility. The hotel has a newly renovated pool for guests. The beautiful facility features complimentary individual cabanas.

I was really impressed with the Westin — it would totally be a great place to come stay with your family for the weekend. You have all the amenities of the Galleria at your fingertips with the hotel right there.

Next, we took a tour of Saks Fifth Avenue and the Fifth Avenue Club, a complimentary personal shopping experience for Saks’ customers.

On Wednesdays, the club even offers free facials for Fifth Avenue Club customers. How awesome is that?

We also stopped by Nordstrom, which offers complimentary personal shopping for customers. Say you need a dress for an event and your budget is $100. Nordstrom will set you up with one of their 25 personal shoppers, who will ask questions to determine your taste and what kind of outfit you’re looking for. You will set an appointment and come it to a selection of outfits from which you can choose.

They can also help you build a wardrobe over a period of time. This sounds like something I TOTALLY need. I’m TERRIBLE at choosing outfits and styling them. It’s so hard for me! But if I could have someone do it FOR me, that would be AMAZING.

And if the shopping and dining experiences weren’t enough, there is an art gallery in the Galleria, featuring some amazing pieces. Picasso, anyone?

Check out the directory of stores in the Galleria Dallas. Some of my favorites are Zara, the American Girl Doll Store, Ylang 23 and Apricot Lane.

I highly recommend it for a fun day with your family (or if you just need to get out of the house and SHOP)!

Disclaimer: I was invited to tour Galleria Dallas with a group of bloggers. We received gifts and swag to come back and enjoy at the Galleria at a later date. All opinions are my own.

The Galleria is by far my favorite mall in Dallas. The Grand Luxe is my favorite restaurant as well. I highly recommend the Shrimp Scampi Pasta. VERY good. 🙂 The Galleria mall is especially nice during Christmas time.

I LOVE that place. I go there to skate every friday as part of my workout. I also go jogging and plan on incorporating swimming too. It’s really fun.

I feel privileged to have been part of this experience, and I look forward to seeing how the Galleria will continue to evolve and captivate visitors for years to come.
