26 weeks! {Baby Belly Pics}

Happy Tuesday dear blogging friends! It has been far, far too long since I posted, and for that, I am sorry.

You know how life just catches up to you and you don’t have time to breath, much less blog? Yeah. That’s how the last two months have been for me. School started with a bang and with it came work, work, work! I have been super busy and just now am getting into the swing of things.

As far as the baby goes, we’re both feeling great! Andrew is kicking and moving around like a fiend… he even wakes me up in the middle of the night pushing on my belly.

He and I need to have a serious talk about the hours he keeps. I mean, a girl needs her sleep, right!? I thought the sleepless nights came once he was OUT of the womb!

Morning sickness is long gone, hallelujah! And I have finally started to feel great.

Last weekend, I was on my way home from teaching a workshop in Austin, when all of a sudden, the desire to clean and organize the house hit me. When I finally got home, I drug The Nerd to the furniture store, where we bought a new living room set and a dining room table.

Then, we went home and cleaned. And purged. And recycled all the yearbooks in our house (and boy, oh, boy, did we have A LOT of yearbooks!). And this weekend, we’ll be continuing the cleaning sweep.

My goal is to have our house completely ready for guests before my baby shower on Oct. 29. I think that’s an attainable goal, don’t you?

Of course, it means more and more Nerdy things are finding their new home in the Nerd Cave and NOT in the living room. After all, we’re ADULTS now! We’re having a baby! 🙂

My belly is HUGE and mottled all over with stretch marks. I keep telling The Nerd he’d better not leave me for a younger woman with no stretch marks. He just looks at me like I’m crazy.

And we finally bought the nursery furniture! It is so pretty! I can’t wait to show you pictures of it. I want to wait, though, until I get all of the wall decorations so that I can do it justice. You’re going to LOVE all the nerdy Star Wars things I’ve found for it!

So I’m now at Week 26… I go back to the OB on Thursday for my gestational diabetes test and all of that fun stuff. I also have to be checked at every appointment now to see if my cervix is dilating. At least I get to see the baby each time, though!

Oh! And we have decided on a middle name! We’re going with Andrew James. I’m super excited and I think it will suit him perfectly.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a good baby update without some photos of my belly! Andrew is the size of an eggplant this month… I can’t believe he’s that big!

But then again, I totally can. 🙂
