Bedtime with Netflix

Do you have a bedtime staller? Try Netflix’s New Dinotrux 5 Minute Favorites. #netflixstreamteam #5moreminutes

I don’t know why bedtime is so hard, but IT REALLY is. With three kids 6 yrs old and under there is always an excuse to not go to sleep. From a fresh cup of water to another hug, I have heard it all. My 2 yr old is especially great at stalling. We call it the slow as snails move. She drags her feet, begs for more food, forces me to refill her water bottle (even when it is already full) and wiggles to keep her self awake.

Let’s be honest, most nights by the time bedtime rolls around, I am exhausted. This makes me an easy target and often time my kids win the bedtime battle. Don’t be fooled though! I have a new ally in my bedtime battle, Netflix. With bedtime being a universal problem for parents (more than 60% of parents around the globe are dealing with kids’ stall tactics before bed) Netflix decided to help parents. It’s time to take our nights back with the help of Netflix.

Next time you find yourself in the bedtime battle, just tell your kids they can watch an ENTIRE show before bed. That’s right, an entire show! My kids will think that they have won again. What they don’t know is that  Netflix and DreamWorks Animation launched Dinotrux 5 Minute Favorites, new episodes of the latest hit, all in a nice little 5-minute package — letting your little ones think they’re getting away with the age-old ‘just five more minutes’ ploy. In a mere 300-seconds, your kids will be speechless as they march themselves up to bed knowing they got exactly what they wanted. You: 1, Kids’ stalls: 0.

They have 3 new episodes: Big Build, Tarpit Rescue, Tortool’s Surprise. So tonight instead of engaging in the battle, pull out Netflix and enjoy the WIN!!!

What do you use to avoid the ‘just five more minutes” excuse?

Get Linens Ready for Holiday Company

For me, the holiday season means one thing — family coming to visit! In the days (weeks!) before they arrive, I stress myself to the max planning and cleaning and getting everything ready for their arrival.

We vacuum, mop, dust, pick up toys… You name it.

But one thing that’s often at the bottom of the list is linens. And having nice, crisp, clean linens is probably the most important thing you can do to make guests feel welcome. So I thought I’d share some of the ways I try to go that extra step and organize our linen closet for when guests come to stay.
