These Stylish Diffuser Necklaces for Essential Oils are a fun DIY that allows you to wear your favorite essential oil all day — and reap the aromatic benefits of it!
I’ve seen lots of different tutorials to make your own diffuser necklace, but none of them really fit my style. I can’t really see myself wearing a large clay pendant around my neck every day. But by mixing natural stone clay (which will diffuse essential oils) with polymer clay, you can create fun geometric shapes that even the most stylish woman can be proud to wear.
Stylish Diffuser Necklaces for Essential Oils
Here’s what you need to make these diffuser necklaces:
Polymer Clay (in bright colors!)
Natural Stone Clay
Sharp Knife
Toothpicks or Pencil
Small Paintbrush and Cup of Water
Fine Chain in Desired Length
Clasp Closures
Split Jump Rings
Start by rolling out the polymer clay and cutting it into the desired shape. I made different sized triangles and chevrons.
Do the same with the stone clay. You want to make sure the pieces fit together before hardening the clay.
Add holes into the shapes to fit the chain through. Make sure the holes are large enough for the chain before hardening.
Bake the polymer clay according to the package directions, and allow to cool.
Dip your paintbrush in the water and wet the part of the stone clay shapes that will touch the polymer clay. This will bond the stone clay to the polymer clay as it dries.
The stone clay will need to air dry for 24-48 hours, until it becomes white and hard.
String the chain through your shapes, and add the clasp using the jump rings.
How To Use Your Diffuser Necklace
Add one or two drops of your favorite essential oil to the stone clay part of your necklace. Apply the essential oils ONLY to the part of the necklace that does not touch your skin.
You can add additional drops of oil as the scent fades.
**Keep clay jewelry away from water.**
