Well, this week’s post isn’t an original.
My life seems to repeat this kind of pattern. I’ve come to the realization that there is a major flaw in our marriage — neither of us likes to clean.
Don’t get me wrong. Our house isn’t dirty. It’s just cluttered.
We amass a lot of stuff. And it just never gets put away.
So, this past weekend I definitely was not scrambling to get the house presentable for a visit from April and Eric this coming weekend. Not me.
I did not wash a sink full of dishes that had been neglected for the whole week. And we did not clean about two dozen empty Dr Pepper cans off the coffee table.
And I most definitely did not pile more junk on the coffee table today as I stayed home to take advantage of an office day. Not me.
I did not stack contracts and paperwork in piles all over the table. Not me.
I did not pile brochures and books in the living room floor. Not me.
Ah, well. Here’s to working my tail off every night this week to make sure the house is presentable when they arrive on Friday.
I am looking forward to the fun, though. We’re going to the Scarborough Renaissance Festival and to the release party for Rise of the Eldrazi.
And I’m going to be making some super-fun recipes, so stay tuned for those!
