Earlier this week, The Nerd and I got to go on a pre-Valentine’s Day date. Since having a baby, it’s been harder and harder for us to get out and have some alone time together. So I was thrilled to have the chance to see the Catch Me if You Can Dallas Summer Musicals program.
The Nerd and I have a thing for musicals. We’ve seen The Addams Family and Peter Pan together, so this date was really a no-brainer.
The show really was spectacular. I’ve seen the movie, so I wondered how they could make the story of Frank Abagnale into a musical. They do it flawlessly, though. Frank was lively and fun and Agent Hanratty was just as I imagined. My favorite, though, was Brenda’s mother. Her character was an absolute hoot!
I loved that the orchestra was incorporated into the set and became part of the show, rather than being hidden in the pit.
This show definitely makes a great date night for you and that special someone, but I’d keep the kids away, due to some mature content.
You can see Catch Me if You Can the Musical at the Music Hall at Fair Park from February 12-24. Get more info on tickets here.
I have to say I’m really excited about this season at Dallas Summer Musicals. I’m most excited about Wicked and the Lion King.
What is the best musical you’ve seen?
Disclaimer: I was provided tickets to see this show by Dallas Summer Musicals in exchange for promotion. All opinions are my own.
Psst: I’ve been nominated for the Circle of Moms Top 25 Tech Moms 2013 list. It would mean the world if you could take a moment and vote for me?
