Our Trip to Paris in a Few Photos

Paris Skyline-003.jpg

It’s been almost two months since we went to Paris, and I don’t know how to tell you just how wonderful it was. I just can’t do the trip justice, so I’ve been hesitant to share it with you.

I posted yesterday about Disneyland Paris and just how great it was. After spending a week at Disneyland, we moved to a hotel in the city, literally blocks from the Eiffel Tower. I could see it from our window.

Don’t get me wrong — I was ready to come home at the end of the trip. Two weeks is a LONG time to spend overseas, especially with a toddler in tow. But I have wonderful memories of the trip with my two men that I will cherish forever.

I could do two weeks’ worth of posts about the trip, but I’ll just sum it up with a few of my favorite photos. I am, however, going to do a separate post on The Louvre (because, how could I NOT?) and a day trip we took to London.

Disneyland Paris Disney Dreams!

A few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to visit Paris as a family. It was such an amazing experience and I wanted to share it with you! For the first week, we stayed at Disneyland Paris for Minecon 2012. During our stay, we had to take Andrew to Disneyland!

Westin Galleria Dallas Staycation

Westin Galleria Dallas Entrance

Last week, The Nerd and I celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary with a Dallas staycation at the Westin Galleria. Sometimes, it’s nice to just get away for the night.

Our 18th-floor room was really nice. The Aggies were playing in the Cotton Bowl that night, so we decided to head up to the Westin Executive Club Lounge and watch the game. This is an area exclusive to patrons of the Executive Club rooms where hors ‘derves and drinks are served in the evening, and continental breakfast is served in the morning.

The hotel was recently remodeled and now features a spacious pool area with personal cabanas, in addition to spacious and modern rooms. You can even choose a weekend package or shopping package to make your Dallas staycation even more convenient and affordable.

But the best part (besides the shower) was the view. We opened up the windows and looked down on the Dallas skyline.

Oh, and the shopping! It’s great to be so close to all the great shopping venues in the Galleria.

We had a wonderful time, and it was a special anniversary. You can read more of my posts about Galleria Dallas here. Have you ever had a staycation in your hometown?

The Eiffel Tower At Night in Paris, France

Eiffel Tower at Night-006.jpg

One of my favorite things to do while we were in Paris was walk around the city at night. The lights were beautiful and the city was quiet. And the Eiffel Tower at night — oh, it took my breath away.

Our second night in the city, we walked to the tower from our hotel. I’ll never forget seeing it lit up that way. It was pure magic.

We Made It!

Well, we made it!

We left for Paris a week ago — and it’s been a whirlwind of activity since. First we had to get from the airport to Disneyland Paris — that was a feat in itself. Once we were settled, the work began in getting our booth set up for Minecon.

I’ve been working non-stop, with just a few chances to see Disneyland. But now, Minecon is over and we’ve moved to our hotel in the city for the remainder of our trip.

We arrived at our new hotel late Monday evening, and I have to say, I’m in love. The Eiffel Tower is just outside our window.

We decided to take it easy that night and most of the day on Tuesday, taking a rest from our flurry of activity since we arrived in France. We walked to a small market down the street, bought cheese and bread and cookies, and had a makeshift dinner in bed.

It was wonderful.

Tomorrow, we’re boarding a train to London to spend the day. Then, we’ll spend the rest of our time touring Paris and experiencing this beautiful city.

Be sure to follow me on Instagram to keep up with our trip. I’ll be posting throughout the week. There are already some photos of the Eiffel Tower!

Be back soon!
