Howdy! It’s Jet again.

This week, my oldest son has been really sick. He has a mix of croup, pneumonia, and bronchitis. He is on supplemental oxygen and has been for five days so far. This experience has not been easy for either boy or Momma. For an active boy, sitting still is the last thing he wants to do. We have had to get creative with activities and Netflix has been our savior. Netflix has such a large variety of shows he can watch that it can keep us pretty occupied. While watching shows gets us pretty far in the day, by the afternoon he is read to get off the couch and do some moving.

Finding Your Inner Super Hero with Netflix

For the most months during the fall, our family’s life revolves around and is consumed by cross country season. My husband and I coach the middle school cross country team in our town. The cross country program is very successful and attracts some of the best athletes and students around.

I was recently invited to join the Netflix Stream Team, and our first challenge involved using some of the movies and TV shows available on Netflix to talk to our children about bullying. For littles, those shows were centered around super heroes — teaching our kids that there is a hero in all of us!

What I Wore Wednesday: Mixing Feminine & Masculine

One of my favorite things to do to add interest and dimension to an outfit is to mix feminine pieces with masculine pieces. For this outfit, I mixed a floral top with a utility/military inspired jacket. The weather here in New Mexico has been cooling down in the evenings, so I love pulling out this jacket. I love how it can be worn in any season.
